Cooperative education can supplement your academic studies with practical, paid work experience. The History Group is committed to providing opportunities to students in research related disciplines. We recognize that your first professional opportunity can define the path that your career takes. If you are interested in historical research, we can help you to gain the practical skills necessary to transition into a professional research environment.

The History Group works in partnerships with the Cooperative Education programs of local universities by hiring at least one student per semester. Our program is designed to teach students the following professional skills:

  • Document collection, review, and analysis
  • Searching and retrieving information from research databases
  • Extracting and entering document information into research databases
  • Coding database records for research terms
  • Compiling analytical reports
  • Writing progress updates and reports
